Welcome Team

The First Impression of Mosaic

The Welcome Team carries a vital ministry.

Long before the worship starts or the message is preached, people are already forming an impression of church. For many, those first few moments determine whether they relax, engage, and return.

A smile at the door.
A warm hello.
Someone who notices.

That matters more than we realise.

At Mosaic, the Welcome Team helps create a culture where people feel seen, valued, and safe from the moment they arrive.

We are not simply greeting. We are representing the heart of the house.

What the Role Involves

Before the Service

• Arrive in good time, ready and prepared
• Pray briefly with the team
• Ensure the welcome area is set up and tidy
• Be in position before guests arrive

During Arrival

• Greet people warmly and confidently
• Be especially attentive to newcomers
• Help people find seating if needed
• Direct families to kids work
• Answer questions or find someone who can

During the Service

• Stay alert and aware
• Assist late arrivals
• Be available for practical needs

After the Service

• Engage in conversation
• Help new people connect to leaders
• Direct guests to refreshments
• Create space for meaningful conversation

The role is relational, observant, and proactive.

What Makes a Great Welcome Team Member

This role is not about personality type. It is about posture of heart.

We are looking for people who are:

• Warm and approachable
• Attentive and aware
• Reliable and punctual
• Calm under pressure
• Comfortable initiating conversation
• Discreet and trustworthy

You do not need to be loud or outgoing. You simply need to care about people.

The best welcome team members notice the person standing alone. They sense when someone looks unsure. They create comfort without being overwhelming.

The Character We Value

Above all, we value:

• A servant heart
• Genuine love for people
• Spiritual maturity
• Unity with church leadership
• A desire to see others flourish

This is not a small role. It is frontline ministry.

Every Sunday, someone may be walking in carrying grief, anxiety, doubt, or loneliness. Your welcome may be the first sign that they are not alone.

The Culture We Build

We aim to create:

• A welcoming atmosphere without pressure
• Excellence without formality
• Warmth without awkwardness
• Confidence without control

When the Welcome Team thrives, the whole church feels it.
